THE NUTS AND BOLTS
Resumes For Veterans provides assistance to veterans and military spouses to create compelling resumes at no cost. We have implemented a strong outreach campaign throughout the United States by developing strategic partnerships with other military-focused platforms that have seen our program and promote it in their area. We also use social media as well to get the word out about our efforts. Our virtual platform allows us to assist veterans and military spouses in any location as long as they have access to a computer and internet access.
All program participants are required to complete a Roll-Call form, which explains the extent of the program, its conditions, and expected results. This step in our process helps clients understand what they will need to do and how to prepare, thus assuring the successful completion of the program.
Resumes for Veterans partners with DNA Behavior to provide our veterans and military spouses with their “Business DNA” career profile. DNA Behavior surveys clients to determine their career path based on their unique abilities and talents. A completed DNA Behavior survey identifies each client’s desired tasks, team role, work environment, and work rewards. This information assists our career coaches and clients by providing a better understanding of the clients’ desired career path, work role, and where they see themselves in their careers.
To help veterans with the challenge of “selling” themselves to civilian employers, we developed a tool which uses state-of-the-art technology and delivers a dynamic resume that features images, downloadable files, hyperlinks and more, all accessible by the employer. We also attach print versions in both .DOC and .PDF versions for use in distribution and ATS systems.
Everyone who completes our program has access to our exclusive directory of employment resources, which contains a wealth of information. The resource portal contains tutorials and articles written by subject matter experts in all areas of career readiness. Our career coaches review the resource portal with the client to assure they can access it and understand the content and its value.
